Help New Zealanders living with a disability

Assistance Dogs New Zealand Trust (ADNZT) is a not-for-profit organisation providing purpose-trained Assistance Dogs to enrich the lives of New Zealanders living with a disability.

However, due to the incredibly high demand for their services and limited funding, their waitlist has been closed for over two years. During that time, over 600 New Zealanders have reached out for their support.

Please donate to their $75,000 Assistance Dog Appeal today, so they can re-open their waitlist and help more families in need.

Changing lives like Indie's, one amazing dog at a time

Since closing our waitlist two years ago, ADNZT has received over 600 expressions of interest from families in need of an Assistance Dog.

Right now, there are 34 families on our official waitlist, many of whom have been waiting up to 5 years to be matched with a dog. We're determined to help these families as soon as possible and to re-open our waitlist to help more families this year. But we desperately need your help to get there.

By donating to our $75,000 Assistance Dog Appeal this September, you will ensure families across New Zealand have access to the support an Assistance Dog provides. Thank you for choosing to change lives.

We need your help to raise, train, and place more dogs with families like Addy's

Young Addy lives with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She was matched with Assistance Dog Vinnie in 2023 - changing her life and the lives of her family in an instant. Vinnie helps Addy regulate her emotions when she's upset, provides "deep pressure" to help her calm down, and is learning to retrieve items when Addy drops them from her wheelchair.

There are currently 31 dogs like Vinnie helping their families across New Zealand. Our organisation doesn't receive any government funding, meaning we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters and the wider community to continue our day-to-day operations.

We cannot place our dogs and help families without you.

100% of your donation helps families like Harry's

A donation of $30 can buy training supplies for a puppy beginning their Assistance Dog journey. By donating to our Appeal today, you are directly helping to raise, train, and place more dogs with those in need.

Thank you to our generous supporters:
